well as our region. We are now faced with the impending closure of another academic year. This time of year can bring a mix of emotions for a lot of us. On one hand, it’s a sense of sadness as we prepare to lose some of our own great student leaders. On the other hand, it’s a time of excitement to see the next group of student leaders to emerge. I wish each of you well as you prepare for graduation. Highlights from the conference included outstanding representation from Kevin Marbury (ODU) as a candidate for NIRSA President-Elect and Rachel McNally (JMU) as she stood for the office of National Student Representative. We elected a completely new VRSA executive board (See page 2 for more details). Many thanks to Jennifer Rezac (VT), Anne Zielinski (VCU), Sue Boling (VCU) and Lindsey Ervin (JMU) for their years of service to VRSA. Their time, effort and energy they put into our state association is truly appreciated. We celebrated ‘the next step’ for Sue Boling as she retires from her job as the Director of Recreational Sports at VCU. Our state was strongly represented on committees, presentations and award honors. Next year’s conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 18th-21st. Unfortunately the 1st Annual State Soccer Tournament, scheduled for the weekend of April 21-23, had to be cancelled due to an insufficient number of teams participating. Although this year wasn’t as successful as we hoped for, we’re hopeful we will be able to host this event again sometime in the near future. A huge thank you goes out to Paul Bazzano and his staff at George Mason University for their dedication, commitment and the countless hours they have put into the planning and preparation of this tournament over the last several months. It is disappointing that we are unable to host this event, but even more so because of all the time and enthusiasm these individuals devoted towards this event. Hope this newsletter finds you doing well. Looking forward to seeing you all sometime soon. -Stacy Smith |

Greetings VRSA! I’d like to begin this newsletter by saying how wonderful it was seeing so many of you at the NIRSA National Conference in Louisville. The number of VRSA members present at the conference was an extraordinary reflection of our state as |
